The Work of Karl Blatch
Karl grew up in a small country town in New South Wales, Australia. his mother was an artist and art teacher who cultivated his basic talents from an early age. He likes painting but found he had a greater talent for sketching, shadows and light. His interest in pyrography came about by sheer chance. He studies and teaches Taekwondo (a Korean martial art). He had just done a little wolf with a soldering iron on an old piece of pine for a bit of fun. His martial arts instructor saw it and asked if he could do a picture of her on a piece of timber. He has found it to be a very time consuming but extremely rewarding medium, and every new creation gives him a new set of challenges. Visit his website www.blackdogpyrography.com.au
