Sonia
is a visual artist and writer living in Northamptonshire. She is a qualified
Teacher, Youth Worker and Adult Education Tutor who enjoys working with
people of all ages. She worked for twelve years in arts administration
and has made a large number of contacts across the whole spectrum of
the arts. She has been involved in a number of arts projects and artist
residencies as well as curating contemporary art and craft exhibitions
for twelve years at Daventry Museum. Sonia's interest in pyrography
began in the early 1980s when her husband bought her a kit for Christmas.
It was a craft ideally suited to her love of drawing and use of natural
materials. She exhibits work from time to time although she works mainly
to commission, pieces for special occasions such as births or marriages
are especially popular. Her latest venture, a video on pyrography, is
now available from Janik.
