Sophia was born in Athens in 1966. She learnt composition, nude and portraits at the School of Fine Arts in Athens from professor Leonida Vlachopoulo. She studied Byzantine, Fine Art, and the maintenance of pieces of art at the artist's Themistokli Karfaki workshop. She learnt classic pyrography at the spiritual place "Estia of N.Smyrni" in N.Smyrni, Athens where she graduated.
