About the Art

The two old houses are original New Zealand Villas about 80 to 100 years old They were built out of timber which is often native Kauri. The board they are burnt on is recycled Kauri, which has come from old buildings such as these. Most of these houses are being restored now and are highly sought after. The Mare and foal are from a friends farm, burnt on pine plywood. The box is a double wine one made of pine. I burnt it and then used water colour, as I like the translucent effect you get with these paints and they don't detract from the burnings.
