Mixo Sydenham

About the Artist

Mixo began pyrography in 1973 while recovering from a motor bike accident with two arms in plaster, "quite challenging but a great rehab pastime!" He began exhibitions and teaching around 1978 with major shows in 5 states of Australia, Germany and Austria. Commissions also sold in New Zealand, South Africa, U.K., Holland, Germany, Bavaria and Austria. Mixo works exclusively with Australian Ironcore Pyropens and Primus blowtorches. In the last 2 years has focussed totally on using Illustrator's Paper Boards and Artist's Paper. For colour he uses professional Artist's Water Colours by Art Spectrum (Australia) and Windsor & Newton (U.K.)
