You've now completed 10 exercises and learnt a lot of basic drawing skills. So you're an artist!!! You can now draw or trace most objects and successfully reproduce them on wood convincingly. So what are you going to do now? Well it depends on what you want from your pyrography skills. Do you want to use your skills for craft work i.e. spoons, egg cups, cheese boards and keyrings etc or do you want to develop your drawing abilities to do pieces of artwork? I personally do both! You can choose to do little presents for family and friends or craft fairs to get a bit of money back to pay for the wood. I love doing craft fairs, because I like the atmosphere and it's good fun, but I love doing real pieces of artwork for art exhibitions alongside watercolours and oils. Have you enjoyed the 10 exercises you've completed? Well if you have, let Janik know and hopefully if there's enough interest I can devise the next 10 exercises, which will include such things as animals, flowers, portraits, human body, reflections in water, linear perspective and how to do craftwork to sell. Please let me know how you've got on! Linda. |
